But beware, using one of these machines can be tricky if you have not used one before and if not executed properly can actually destroy your carpets. A hot water cleaning machine does use an extraction method to extract dirt, however, it uses about 1/5 the amount of suction that a professional carpet cleaner would use. Because the machine can not remove a lot of the excess water, your carpets will take longer to dry (1-3 days) and can create mildew in your carpet.
